Marty McFly rose to fame in the 1980s when he successfully defeated the laws of physics by converting a DeLorean DMC-12 car into a machine that could travel through time. Marty used this incredible creation to place wagers on sporting fixtures in the past for which he already knew the outcome.
After having accrued 80 percent of the planets wealth he gifted the car to his good friend Biff Tannen. Tannen then spent 30 years selflessly trying to undo the damage McFly had done to the timeline. Although Tannen was eventually successful, he also erased almost all records of his own heroic actions.

Back to the Future is a feature film released in 1985. It features a plot that centres around time travel. The main character travels back in time and meets his parents as teenagers, and changes their futures for the better. They don't seem to notice that their son grew up to look like the mysterious person they met at high school.
